Today was one long errand trip, and it was as enjoyable as you'd expect until I said, "Fuck it, everything else can wait till tomorrow." After that, the day improved dramatically.
However, I did manage to Get Stuff Done. Like I got my student ID and parking permit (which I need to edit, as I gave them the wrong license #, dammit). And $300 worth of textbooks (for 2 accounting classes? Srsly?!?). I only got what couldn't be found elsewhere at the college bookstore, cause geez, they like to gouge you, don't they? I mean, going to the publisher's site, I was able to save $50 (without a coupon) and $70 with a coupon. (And no, the books I needed were not available anywhere else online. Not for purchase, not for rent. Nada.)
On the plus side, I got one of my books for free, because the person next to me at the checkout counter couldn't return his copy because of water damage. I didn't have any cash on me, so he gave it to me. Wasn't that awesome? I waited outside the store to make sure he didn't want any reimbursement, but he was sure. *sends $35x7x7x7 worth good vibes his way*
I also did a couple of other things, all of which were necessary, but it was draining as all get out. Especially as everything took three times as long as it should have because of Page, who accompanied for most of the day. And because it was huuuuuumid, and I was wearing long, black pants.
However, after I'd read for an hour, I managed to get outside, mow the lawn (it's been... oh, a month. It was long), and dig up, prepare and seed a dead patch of lawn (note to self: don't leave pile of leaves on good grass!)
It was amazing how that hour in the garden rejuvenated me and my mood. I am so glad I went out, despite my long day. I need to do that every day I can move and it isn't pouring.
However, I must say I am looking forward to bed tonight. It's been a long, long day on not much sleep. And there's loads more to do tomorrow.
Speaking of, it's Page's bedtime, and I need to get him into bed so I don't have to look over at him every five seconds as he strikes another soldier pose. He's altogether too good at it.
