Well... Sometimes it pays to complain. I let the whole world know about Page's stolen bike (since it still hasn't been returned, we figure it's safe to say it's stolen), and a church friend said, "Oh, you know, my grandson just outgrew his bike." She talked to her son and told him he could probably get $10 or $15 for it, but he said, "Nah, I'd rather it go to some kid we know."

A little storm later, and she dropped the new bike off a few minutes ago.

Wow.

It's a 7-speed mountain bike, kid sized! And pretty much brand new condition. *blinks* I was expecting something much more worn and much less... fancy.

Page is just a little tiny bit too small to sit on the seat and get his feet on the ground, which freaks him out, but he's certainly big enough to ride it. When he's not feeling quite so anxious about all the changes that are going on, I think he's going to be pretty thrilled. However, it will take him time to get used to handlebar brakes, so I'm happy to take it slow with him. *pets the poor, anxious kid*

So, my heart is pretty full at the moment.

And now I am off to paint the "mural". I still haven't figured out what music I want to listen to while I paint, though I think this one will demand classical rather than my usual painting musics. Grieg, maybe. Or Debussy. Hopefully my shoulders won't complain too much at the exertion. ;-)
