Cruddy crud is cruddy.
Aug. 30th, 2011 11:27 amPage is sick. He came down with a fever yesterday, and it's carried through to today. This is doubly bad because today is his first day of school, which he is missing, and he will be missing tomorrow as well. Hopefully the fever will break today, as otherwise it will be a trip to the doctor on Friday, even though that's rather pointless as I'm positive it's a virus. (I've called the doctor's office to get a nurse call-back, however, as I am rather worried about him. The temps listed on the thermometer have been high. 103.5 was the highest recorded yesterday, but he was 102.6 when I got up this morning at 7:30 (he'd been awake for at least an hour, maybe two), and when I got home from class at 10:30, he was 104!)
Ibuprofen has been given, as has water, of course.
While my main concern is his well-being, I am also selfishly concerned about how this is going to affect the rest of us. I have classes tomorrow and Thursday mornings which I really need to go to, as it's the first week, and, since classes were canceled yesterday due to the storm, they'll be my first classes/ introductions to the teachers.
I've asked Geoff if he can work from home tomorrow morning, but, well, that can only be done a few times before it becomes frowned upon at work. I suppose if Page is still ill tomorrow morning, I'll see about finding my Thursday prof, explain the situation and get the syllabus and assignments if possible. (Makes note to look up prof's office hours today)
*sigh* I have now a clear understanding of the extreme convenience of online classes, even if they make school a real drag. I may, perhaps, endeavor to make at least one of my classes an online course from now on...
Anyway, I should go do my homework and get painting.
...
Or not. Doctor's appointment at 12:45. *sighs again*
