Aug. 31st, 2011 05:21 pmThis reminds me of an odd sight I saw the other day. I was driving somewhere with Geoff and saw a woman wearing a hijab... and a tee shirt. Erm... *shrugs* Geoff didn't even notice her garb. He just noticed the baby stroller next to her apparently pushing itself. (The child was pushing it.)
But... I mean, yes, dressing "modestly" is definitely a matter of opinion, but... The thought I came away with was that she must do full body waxes. *cringes*
Life here is okay. I have a ton of reading to do (which I should be doing right now, but I'm on a concentration break), but little homework as of yet. I've already missed a class (that took place) because I had forgotten that "R" alone means Thursday. Oops. Hopefully the professor won't hold that against me, though I'm sure his first impression of me is not favorable at this point. Ach well.
Today's class, principles of management, might just be an enjoyable class. The prof is fun. And interesting. And logical. I like that. Even if she seems to be a devout capitalist. ;-)
I've made progress on my garden. After two days of gardening embargo (for various reasons), I was desperate enough to get out there that I managed to drag myself out of bed before 7:30. I drank a glass of water and headed out, managing to amend the soil under the arbor as well as planting three ferns in a half-hour. Whee!
After school (and a cup of chai), I made my way out for another half-hour in which I moved the huechera (into amended soil) into better positions and then dug out and partially filled the gulch. I'll need to dig that out a bit more, as at least one side will need bigger rocks to line it.
I hope to get all the hard-scaping done and all the plants planted by the end of the long weekend, but what with homework and other things (like the mural), that may not happen. However, seeing as I really did get a substantial amount done in only one hour, it's possible. And also, I am making an effort to get out into the garden for an hour a day because it makes me so happy. I've got ten dozen mosquito bites to show for it (I exaggerate only slightly. Probably got 10 new bites today, though), but it's totally worth it to be boppy for at least an hour afterwards.
But now I need to go attack the books again. After all, "Chris Clark" hasn't finished his month of transactions yet, so the formula isn't complete.
:-)
PS: Page woke up (at 5:48, grrr) saying he felt fine! Has been fine all day. So that's a yay.
