Just sent off chapter 13 to the beta. I'm not thrilled with it, but that might just be the heat making me disagreeable. I did iron out the worst of the problems, thouhg, so maybe it'll read okay.

I'm seriously thinking of calling this the end of part 1, (or is that the end of part 2, since MAC could be termed part 1... whatever) and taking an extended break. I really, really need to get caught up on other projects, and I'm running out of time for some of them.

I also would like to figure out exactly how to progress with the rest of the story, because it's going to be pretty different, and different means completely new territory, which is scary as all get out. Ya know?

Whatever. We'll see if I can stay away from the dratted story. I'm sure that just as soon as I'm confident that I really am taking a break, inspiration will hit. The muse dos have a nasty habit of knocking me out.

Anyway, that's the news from Lake Winnipesaukee, or thereabouts.

How bad of me is it to think - yay, time for me to FINALLY get up-to-date after I got behind during my offlineness?

You're now kicking yourself for listening to your flist when we all (mostly) urged you to write a longer story, aren't you? :) In any case, I'll be glad to see the update when it arrives.

Um, a little. I was actually tempted to call chapter 13 the end, but, unfortunately, I have the rest of the story still kicking around in my head. Probobly won't leave me alone until it's all written out.

Hopefully the update will be up before the end of the weekend, but absolutely no promises. If I don't have it back in a week, though, I'll pester my beta to make sure I can get it up for next weekend!

Oh, hon. I'm sorry that this story is giving you such trouble. You do know how much that we love it, don't you? It is so very well written. So, take as much time as you need. (Even though I can't help but to tell you that the story is addicting. I promise to try not to beg for updates.) ;)

Oh, don't mind me! It was 99 degrees yesterday (Heat index of 105), and I just absolutely loathe heat. Especially with humidity. I really pity those in the Midwest and South. I wouldn't survive.

No, my real problem isn't the story (which is scaring me, but not that much); it's discipline. Knowing that I have a few faithful readers who love the story makes me want to write it all out, when really, there are other things I need to do instead.

What I would love to do, though I don't know that I have the will power, is to write out the rest of the story completely so that I can rout out the holes before posting. But sometimes all that keeps me writing is proving to some reviewers that they're missing the point. (The nice reviewers who get the story, like you, make me want to finish the story for your pleasure, not my vindication).

Sigh...

Rest assured that your begging does not upset me. Really, truly. If it did, there's no way I'd beg you for more of your stories. ;-)
