The stuff I will do (sooner or later) are normal type, stuff that needs to be done that will wait until I'm in mega-procrastination mode are in italics.

Cleaning:
- fridge (still stinks. Why?)
- dishes
- dust ceilings
- sweep all the floors

Other:
- finish mural (one hand. That's it!)

- cook dinner
- harvest chard, cucumber before dark or snow, whichever comes first

- start chicken stock?
- take care of various produce

- food shopping
- box shopping

- mousetrap shopping
- bills

It's getting on for late fall around here. That means that mornings are cold and dark, and it's getting progressively harder to get out of bed in a timely manner. And it's supposed to snow tonight. Which is just wrong, btw. This is New England, dammit! Not the Front Range (Rockies)! We're not supposed to get snow until December! Because fall is a long, drawn out affair involving lots of colors, lots of rain and then lots and lots of dreary grey-brown so as to butter us up to welcome the everlasting white that is winter.

Ach well. It's supposed to warm up over the weekend. I just hope school isn't canceled in the morning. I wouldn't be surprised (anymore) if it were, though. The wimps.

Anyhoo.

The farm runs have come to an end for the season. There might be one last harvest in a few weeks of kale and brussel sprouts and such, but no more weekly trips out. Which is both nice and sad. It was so beautiful out there on Tuesday! The late afternoon sun was backlighting the dying corn stalks, and warming the green, green grass that lined the rows. The curly kale was so cute with just the little leaves at the tops remaining, like a bunch of mini Sideshow Bobs all lined up in a row. And the fallow field beyond... That was gorgeous in a different way every time we went, though this time it was a golden glow in the distance, framed by the black pines bordering it.

Farmer B. asked if I was going to join again next year, and I was honest about it not really being worth it for me while I'm on this diet. His answer was a pay per basket deal, which, I'll admit, might make a lot more sense for us. I sure do want to continue supporting his efforts, as it's an awesome place. And it is great getting organic food locally.

As for school... I got my test back in accounting, and it was a very nice 100%. I'm glad I reviewed all the questions more thoroughly and made a last minute change to one of the multiple choice. We're now starting in on merchandise business accounting systems. Yay. It still all seems pretty straightforward to me, even as my eyes glaze over at the explanations.

Management... Progress is slowly being made in this blankety-blank group project. I was right in not wanting to fire Older Gal, as she had an awesome idea for the class participation part of the project. Since the case study we're supposed to present on is about ethics, we're going to do a mock trial. PETA vs. P&G.

Older Gal needed to leave class early, so she missed out on the group meeting, but... yikes. I left the meeting feeling frustrated that the kids really don't have a clue, so yesterday I spent an hour composing a fairly detailed email on what needs to happen to make this presentation a success. And, you know, that's just the basics on making a case. Two of the four group members avoided my eye this morning, while the other one never showed up (four of us are in both management and accounting classes together. Today's class was accounting). They probably think I'm being unreasonable, but, well... *shrugs and rolls eyes* Again, I can afford to flunk this presentation. They can't. If they want to be slackers about it, then on their heads be it.

What else?

I already told you about Page's misdeeds... Hmm... I'm really looking forward to getting the mural done, as then I get to clean up my living room! Oh, that will be so nice!

I also managed to get to choir rehearsal last night! Oh, that was nice! I need to really make that a priority, though it is always a toss-up on whether it will energize me or not. Last night was energizing, though also intimidating. There are a couple of pieces that are hard. It's been years since we've done anything difficult, and this is difficult not only in the structure, but the fact that the second sopranos seem to live on high E. Yikes. At least it isn't also in German (which I find a much more difficult language to sing in than Latin). If curious, the song in question is "Flanders Fields" by Paul Aitken. I have no idea if there's a recording out there or not. (Oh, and looking at the score, it looks like I'm exaggerating again. Seconds live at B, though are regularly asked to go up to high E. Firsts need to reach high G. *laughs drily*)

Hmm. I guess I need to get going on my tasks now. Especially as the caffeine kicks in. But choosing what to do first is always the hard part... Do I paint and finish that up or mend and get that done and out of here? Decisions decisions...

Cheers!
