B wasn't in class again today. Today being the third time we were supposed to present our case. The teacher got an emailed term paper from her at 8:30 this morning, and we all got an email from her last night saying she was going to be there, but... Well...

Fortunately, the teacher agreed that, assuming B is there on Monday, we can do our presentation then and just get it over with already. I am not going to email B with that info, just in case she's being dishonest about nerves.

And I was so looking forward to getting everything major for this class over and done with today. Term paper and presentation combined equals more than half our class grade... Bah.

On another "unexpected" note, I saw this lovely "well duh!" article this morning: Costly U.S. health system delivers uneven care.

And it's written as if it's something new. *rolls eyes*

Parent teacher conference was this morning. Upshot is our child is smart. Really quite smart. So smart, he's bored and acts out. He also has discipline issues. (Really? Never would have guessed.) And he doesn't like outdoor recess. So, generally, a chip off the old blocks. *sigh*

I asked about the "God papers," and the teacher looked surprised and confused. Our theory that it was a fellow student proselytizing seems likely, though it could be that the outside teacher who comes in to help with language arts is an undercover Bible Lady. Teacher swears that they only use the harmless (and incredibly elementary) reader in class.

Aaaaannnnnnd... It's a miserable day out. Very cold, rainy and we're supposed to get about an inch or two of snow tonight. I am very thankful we do not have far to travel tomorrow for our feast.

Speaking of, I need to get to work. I promised a friend I'd make her some pies today. I'm cheating a fair bit this year by buying pre-made crust (though not pre-pressed), but, well, oh well. I'm busy, on a flour-free diet and rather disenchanted with her taste buds (she canceled the pumpkin pie because one was coming with their store-bought meal package. 'Cuz that's completely equal to mine...) So it's off to peel the apples! The wonderful apples of ... fall?

*hugs* What a lot of unsatisfying things - yes there is good stuff, but really.

B needs a good kick up the backside.

And the person who prefers shop-bought pies? A nutter.

Of course Page is bright and bored. What is it with schools that all the clever children are bored?
