Arting results

So, my mum reminded me that I never shared the final results of the mural of doom. Oops. My bad. So I thought I'd share that and this week's project that I finished today.

A crappy photo of da "mural". Obviously, it is not technically a mural, seeing as it's on a stretched canvas and not a wall, but it was supposed to be a mural, until I ran out of health, time and energy. As it is, it's the largest painting I've done (not counting the actual murals I've painted) at approximately 5'x 4'. Well, it's tied for first, anyway.
And what had me giggling today:
My oldest niece told my sister that she was "too old for unicorns." My sister took umbrage at the thought of being too old for anything and persuaded my niece that it wasn't unicorns, per se, that she objected to, but the twee crap things that are presented as unicorns nowadays. Niece agreed. So Sis asked me to draw a battle unicorn for Niece that will be made into a t-shirt.
Unfortunately, the more subtle bits of humor in this image don't really come through unless viewed full-size. To confirm any suspicions that might be had...
I'm hoping that with six weeks off till next semester, I'll be able to complete six paintings/projects by then. We'll see, however, as Christmas is coming and the house is a mess, so that gets priority this week.
However, I do need to get a lot more work done as I signed up to show at the church sometime next spring! And I'd rather not have repeats... Besides which, I need to build up my inventory again!
Right. Now off to bed. Hopefully that will chase off this cold that's trying to move in.
