They're both very good (the top pic could do without the undefinable, frame-like thing in the background, though), and I guess they wouldn't work the other way round. The black-and-white one would have less atmosphere in colour, and the hair-skin contrast wouldn't be half as good in black-and-white.

Thanks! Yeah, the half wall does mess things up in the top one, doesn't it? I should gimp it out... should I ever feel inclined. ;-)

I messed around with saturation and contrast levels with both of them, and really, they didn't work well any other way.

And I'm always wryly amused when I'm taking my own photo. After all, it's a very silly-feeling thing to do!
