Username Meme
Aug. 18th, 2006 05:46 pmHmm, this seems like an fun meme. Stolen from
novinha.
List songs I like beginning with each letter of my username.
Angel (Footsteps) - Jeff Beck (album: Who Else?) (With the very close runner-up of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python). Beck is pretty hard stuff, to my ears, but "Angel" is this soft lilting melody that can carry me away and let me daydream.
Valparaiso - Sting Mercury Falling I have memories of trying to memorize this song by repeatedly singing it on the Elsternwick train platform in Australia after Life Drawing lessons every Thursday night. I was almost always alone on the platform, and I cherished that time to sing at the top of my lungs where no one would hear me.
Even Better than the Real Thing - U2 Achtung Baby I just like it.
Red Rain - Peter Gabriel So Do I really need to explain?
You Are My Sunshine This was a horrible letter to find anything, but I really do like this song. It's so sweet and cheerful and happy, with a completely desperate, angsty and dangerous undertone. Perfect.
God Shuffled His Feet - Crash Test Dummies God Shuffled His Feet (Closely followed by "Graceland" by Paul SImon) I love the Crash Test Dummies' humor. It is so... Canadian. :D
One Week - Bare Naked Ladies Stunt Again, I love their humor, but their music is just plain addictive. I think Stunt is their best album, though. They seemed to mature (musically) in it.
One - U2 Achtung Baby It's another easy to listen to song that I know some of the words to. Bono infuses so much passion in his singing it makes up for his... vocal stylings.
D'yer maker - Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy (It's pronounced "Jamaica", for those who don't know) Oh, oh oh oh oh, you don't have to go, oh oh oh oh.... Classic!
Under the African Skies - Paul Simon Graceland This song gives me goosebumps. I love the harmonies and the imagery... It always gets me singing - or humming when other people are around.
(Nothing but) Flowers - Talking Heads Naked I love the message and it makes me laugh.
Oh, and today I got a check for half the amount to start the mural! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
