Reading the article, and the context in which he said that, I actually agree with him. To a degree. However, the fact that he opens himself up to those pot-shots is a very good reason not to vote for him, IMO. Imagine the international incidents he'd cause with impolitic statements like that!

(And then imagine Newt's effect on the world's political scene! Hooboy!)

Of course everyone makes Bushisms now and again, just, well, he does it so frequently! And consistently! He's not a stupid man, nor is he unkind, but it's like he's blind to the political climate of the world right now.
