Yesterday was a lovely day off (except for vacuuming the stairs and rugs). I needed it, not only because my body was tired, but because I was slightly ill, too. However, I think I'm better today, so it's back to work.

Lay edging stones in front (no digging)
fold laundry (mostly sheets)
plant veggie seeds
(finish) weed back garden
fertilize all plants
make stew!!!
roast chicken?

Page is home from school today with more of his persistent tummy ache. I think we've got a bug going around our house, as Geoff and I have felt the same upset. It's what got me down yesterday. So that's unfortunate, but minor.

Other trivial things:
- I have a blister below my right middle finger from all the shoveling I did on the weekend. It hurts. Quite a bit.

- Giving up tea is a lot easier when it's clear it is the cause of the sharp and horrible stomach/chest pains. But I want some this morning. (Bengal spice will have to do.)

- Dreams have been very anxiousy and unsettled lately. Not sure why. Maybe it's in the air.

- My body is adapting to the niacin. I took nearly 400mg this morning and only got a slight tingle and no flush. (Flushing is a sign of overdose.) Still have yet to figure out what uses it up.

- "Lamb" is funny. I hope to get more reading in today.

But now I'm tired, so I'm going to go rest. Perhaps with "Lamb." *shifty eyes*

I'm glad the dietary shifts are having good results, and hope you're able to find some blister and weird dream relief. I took yesterday off too, and I'm hoping it's enough to keep both of us well!

Oh lord, Lamb and Fool are my two favorites of Christopher Moore's. I remember a fangirl meeting where I read aloud the bit where Biff consigns the younger members of their play group to play Lot's wives. We might have laughed very hard. That and the genesis of the beatitudes :D

Thank you! I hope I can find relief, too, but I suspect it's a phase I just have to go through. However, yes! May the day off keep both of us well!

I've never read any of Moore's stuff, but this is pretty delightful. There've been so many laugh-out-loud scenes so far, and I suspect there will be many more.

*eyes book and couch*

What are these books? They sound interesting.

EDIT: found on Amazon. In basket already.

I hadn't reached the beatitudes when I read your comment. Oh. My. God! That was so funny! I think I liked the scene of the giggling monks best, though.

Aaaha, giggling monks!!! Though "blessed are the dumb fucks" may be my favorite line. Or possibly the bit about the meek getting a fruit basket :D

Despite feeling a bit poorly - it sounds like you're getting lots done!

Nah. I sat around and read for two days straight. I didn't even make dinner! But I think it helped with whatever was wrong, as I've just come in from an hour's weeding.
