Body blather (feel free to skip)
May. 17th, 2012 01:20 pmIt is absolutely gorgeous out today, which is to be expected as it stormed rather ferociously last night. It was lovely hearing thunder again. (My family is descended from weather gods, ya know. ;-)
But, I guess the early mornings have been more stressful to me than I thought, as I just woke up from a chill-induced three-hour nap. I went to snuggle under the blanket on the couch with my ice-box hoodie on (hoodie up) and woke up to the doorbell a few minutes ago. Whoa. At least I'm not cold anymore. (And no, it wasn't fever-chills, it was being cold. I imagine if I'd taken my temperature, it would have read 96 something. (For those using centigrade, 98.6 is normal. 94 is hypothermic.))
But I'm nice and warm now. Ready for a spot of lunch and then outside for some manual labor! Yee haw.
I guess I just need to be a bit more careful about not overdoing it. I might have overdone it yesterday, with the hour of weeding while having low blood pressure. Or I just haven't been getting enough sleep. That's also a very real possibility. More probable than the weeding theory.
Today's task is to outline the front garden area with the bricks that will be used for edging. To make very sure the landscape dudes know not to sod that area. I also really, really need to plant my veggie seeds today, though I'd like Page to help with that. Unfortunately, Page won't be home from school until 6, and then there's an after after-school thing, and... yeah. So I guess I'll just save the snap peas for him to plant.
Some varmint keeps digging into my pots holding the daylily and peony roots. It's really annoying. I imagine it's a squirrel, but, what would a squirrel want with daylily and peony roots? That might not even be alive? *sigh*
On the plus side, one of the peonies did survive, so that makes one daylily and one peony. I'm still holding out a slim hope for the others, because:
Sumer is icumen in,
Lhude sing cuccu!
Groweþ sed and bloweþ med
And springþ þe wde nu,
Sing cuccu!
