As in the mood. There's not much actual content here.

1. My brother recently found a box of photos from our childhood, and I am really enjoying the stroll down memory lane on FB. Gosh, Page looks like me at that age! And my sister was so incredibly beautiful. Well, she still is, but not in that fresh-faced way of yesteryear. I also got a kick out of seeing a picture of one of my brother's friends (whom I had a crush on because he was so sophisticated and the epitome of cool), and it makes me laugh, because he looks like such a kid to me now! Just how old am I, anyway? (Answer: twice his photographed self's age!)

2. I am really enjoying the kale smoothies I've been making myself this week. Today's was perfect: not too sweet and not to kale-y. My skin has also been looking much better this week. Almost normal, actually. I think it's due to a number of things (washing my face religiously twice a day and oiling it up afterwards PLUS the diet PLUS cutting down on nuts (because of the phytic acid) PLUS the kale smoothies (nutrients and antioxidents out the yingyang) PLUS getting a bit more exercise PLUS keeping hydrated PLUS avoiding all dairy (darn casein) PLUS avoiding tea (for the most part), etc.), but it's satisfying to see an actual positive change after so long. I still have a nasty patch of eczema on my neck, but whatever. I suspect it will go away shortly, as that was where my eczema used to be before the ozone treatments made my face flare up. When that fades and the insides of my elbows flare, I'll know I'm darn close to being healthy.

3. I finished "The Hound of the Baskervilles" yesterday. I enjoyed the tale quite a bit, and possibly more so because Snape Sherlock wasn't in it very much. Though I like the written Sherlock far more than BC's version. (I enjoy BC's version very much, but he's an absolute pain in the arse in a way that written Sherlock isn't. Not that Doyle's Sherlock is someone I'd like to hang out with, mind.)

4. It looks like there'll be no sod for me today. :-( And I kind of wonder whether the project manager has been fired or something, as he wasn't here today, and he left rather hastily yesterday after an angry phone call. *shrug* I wouldn't be surprised, seeing as he has anger issues, but at the same time, I hope he's back on Tuesday. However, because there won't be sodding going on, I hope to be able to get the walkway in this weekend. It really shouldn't be that big a job, though I know it'll end up being somewhere between my optimistic view and Geoff's pessimistic fears. Still, I think it'll be closer to my approximation than Geoff's.

5. I have absolutely no idea why, but I actually enjoy weeding. It's satisfying, even though it's like laundry, and is never, ever done. *shrugs* Don' know, but I spent a quarter hour this morning weeding the front garden, and it was very soothing and uplifting. Of course, because it is a rather Sisyphusian task, there is always another chance to enjoy it. :-/

Hope you all have a marvelous weekend.

Every incarnation of Sherlock Holmes that I've seen/read is an amazing character, but I'm with you -- I wouldn't like to hang out with him or anything. He's a right pain, and he'd chew me up and spit me out in less than a minute.

I haven't got to "The Hound of the Baskervilles" yet -- I'm reading them in order, and I have to finish "The Abbey Grange" and go on to "The Second Stain" first.

You have a good weekend, too! And I hope the walkway project gets done soon.

I haven't done a complete survey of the film versions, but I'll agree that they're all amazing. And utterly obnoxious. ;-)

I cheated and skipped the majority of the adventures after the first two novel(la)s, because I needed to read "The Final Problem" and "The Adventures of the Empty House" and figured I might as well read "Hound" to see the difference right away. I'm bad. I know it. I'm now getting started on resuming the chronological flow, though. :-)

Thank you! I've taken up all the old pavers, so that's one step done. Now to kill the ants... =)

Hey, you won't hear me complaining about your reading habits! I knew about the Woman, the Hound, and the Fall because I'd seen Jeremy Brett's episodes out of order, so I had some background in all three stories before I saw the BBC's take on them. I haven't been as strict on reading the stories in order as I should be, because I was writing a Mycroft-centered fic last autumn and read every story that mentioned or featured him several times. Other than that, though, I'm taking the original stories in order, so I've only read "A Scandal in Bohemia" so far.

*smiles*

Weeding is, I think, something that can be very therapeutic, and can be done in small doses. Best of all worlds.

Glad you're feeling healthy.

Yes! That's exactly it. I need to get (re)started on my backyard, again, so it doesn't seem too arduous a task to face, though.

Yeah, I'm definitely on the mend, now. Poor Geoff. (lol)

Sadly, I hate weeding, which is why I don't do as much gardening as I'd like.

Other than that, glad you're feeling healthier.

See, and I understand that completely. I really don't understand why I enjoy it so much. Maybe it's the ripping up of problems by their roots, or the nurturing of the chosen, or just a sadistic pleasure of ending something's life... I don't know. Probably the first. Though I dare say it's all combined. :-/

Thank you! Definitely getting better now!
