Lesson plan:
Materials and how to use: (no more than 15 minutes, probably not even 10 minutes)
Basic head shape: (15 minute lecture/demonstration, 20 minutes practice)
Shadowing: (20 minutes lecture/demonstration, 30 minutes practice)
Personality (10 minute lecture/demonstration, rest of allotted time to practice)
Lesson plan:
Materials and how to use: (no more than 15 minutes, probably not even 10 minutes)
- pencils vs. chalk vs. charcoal
- pencil sharpness (i.e. blunted edges best) and use (light strokes)
- plain paper vs. colored paper
- erasers
- calipers, straight sticks
Basic head shape: (15 minute lecture/demonstration, 20 minutes practice)
- bone structure
- proportions
- different angles (full, ¼, ¾, profile, etc. Most will be in pamphlet; class focus on full)
- facial feature shapes (eye sockets, mouth lines, etc.)
Shadowing: (20 minutes lecture/demonstration, 30 minutes practice)
- Eyes
- nose
- temporal mandibular
- mouth
- reflective light
Personality (10 minute lecture/demonstration, rest of allotted time to practice)
- Eyebrows
- nose
