This is an interesting article on the proven benefits of vitamin D, appropriate dosage and such. Of especial interest is the fact that those who aren't deficient have a lower rate of cancer, diabetes and other immunological diseases. Also, some fibromyalgia pain is alleviated by large doses (4,000-10,000 IUs/day).

The unsaid gist of the article, however, is we'd all be healthier if we joined nudist camps and lived where the sun does shine. ;-)

I thought you meant sicko in the pejorative sense of the word! Which also applies to me, I suppose. ;-)

My mum keeps exhorting me to get my Vitamin D levels checked. It has certainly been proven that correcting deficiencies improves myalgia and general fatigue. And it's shocking how many of us are deficient without realising it. I'd better put that on my to-do list as well!

My doctor is very attentive to Vit D levels in her patients. thanks to her, I now have enough in my bloodstream.

And yes, if we were more "outdoorsy", we'd lack it less.
