You Are Most Like Carrie! |
![]() You're quirky, flirty, and every guy's perfect first date. But can the guy in question live up to your romantic ideal? It's tough for you to find the right match - you're more than a little picky. Never fear... You've got a great group of friends and a great closet of clothes, no matter what! Romantic prediction: You'll fall for someone this year... Totally different from any guy you've dated. |
Funny... I was just thinking who I'd compare myself to last night. I couldn't decide between Carrie and Charlotte. Guess that answers my question, eh?
This week has been pretty good. I've been working on the new exchange project and have made progress (after what seemed like three billion false starts. You'd think that choosing the prompt would make it easier, not harder. Sheesh). I've made progress on my countertop, too. Only four more coats of oil! Only. If I could oil it inside, it would go by in four days (hell, it would have been done two weeks ago!), but I can't, so... (Please be sunny. Please be sunny!)
Babe: I think I'm going to have to come up with a different moniker for him. I know he's still basically a baby, but he's very quickly becoming a little boy. It's lovely, frustrating and scary seeing him test the boundaries in more methodical and intelligent ways. It's interesting to see him figuring out his personality. I just hope he starts using words soon. Besides "Dow," which means either "down" or "up" or "come" or "food" or...
Another interesting note is that my sister has offered to fly us out to Colorado. She has some free tickets that will expire at the end of January, and since she has a new job (that she wants to keep), she can't use them to come visit us like she was planning on doing.
So, now DH and I have to decide a) whether we're going to accept her offer, and b) if we do accept her offer, whether we'll break my only New Year's resolution (I will not travel, Sam I am!) or not.
The main reason I am even contemplating turning down her offer is because of the money involved. Sure, airfare might be covered, and we probably would be able to scrounge up a car to borrow from a friend or relative, but it's still more expensive than staying home. Don't get me wrong, I want to see my family and friends, I really do, but... Is it worth it to encourage our debt?
There's also the fact that I'm really allergic to Colorado, and it doesn't really matter what time of year it is. So a two week trip (to go for anything less would be pointless considering we'll be splitting our time between Denver and Pueblo) is going to be a major stress on my system. It's also a long trip, and most likely Babe will be a lap baby rather than getting him his own seat. That makes it a LONG trip.
So, the expense and stress are two valid reasons not to go.
But...
Since the tickets don't expire until the end of January, I could keep my resolution.
But.
First of all, January in New England is an iffy time to travel. Granted that most years it's always nice to get a chance to see blue skies by the time January rolls around, but Nor'easters are more likely. Nor'easters mean delays both in ground and airway traffic.
But.
January in Colorado can be a really lovely experience. If it's a normalish winter, it could be 60 degrees for the majority of our visit.
But.
If we broke my resolution and went in November (not around Thanksgiving!), we could be around family not only for Babe's birthday, but my niece's as well. November weather here isn't that bad, though, so we could potentially be missing the only good part of winter.
Either way we'd be packing our winter clothes, which means big, heavy bags. And the annoying (wonderful) thing about the front range is that packing requires a variety of seasonal wear.
Bah! I hate decisions. I'm also not fond of traveling anymore. But I'm not likely to see my nieces and nephews for many years if we wait for them to come out to see us.
But, but, but.
Any opinions, especially those of you out there?
