Something weird happened in choir practice tonight. I had a panic attack. Maybe I should just call it an anxiety attack, because it really wasn't that severe (nothing compared to my other chest pains, although longer lasting).

One minute I was happily singing along (or trying to, anyway) with everyone, and the next... well, I was still happily singing along, just with my chest feeling like it was folding in on itself.

I knew immediately what was going on so I was able to continue doing what I was supposed to without missing more than a beat, but I was surprised at the lack of mental involvement. I didn't hear noises (other than the choir, that is). I didn't feel dizzy. I didn't feel anxious, but my body did.

I always assumed that anxiety attacks were accompanied by, well, anxiety. Go figure.

The sad thing is, I think I know what caused it. Right, that's not sad. The cause is.

On another note, I'm having company over tomorrow. Artist lady (wife of a fellow choir member) is coming over, finally. I confronted her (rather artlessly, at that) on SUnday and scheduled a time then and there because I knew if it were left up to me calling her, it would never, ever happen. I don't call people other than my husband and my mum. I don't even call my siblings.

Anyway, we scheduled for Tuesday, but she had to move it back to Thursday, which was a-okay by me, giving me more time to clean.

Which brings me to a poll!

Are you feeling better now? This coupled with your other heart stuff makes me nervous. Not worried, mind... just nervous. If you want to bend an ear, I'll gladly listen.

Now, about cleaning. I selected my answers, but most often the situation is:

My husband did the inviting, because I'm really solitairy. Then I go with cleaning as best as I can, but it's not perfect. If Hubby is around, follows along and he IS the perfectionist. He wants everyone to think that we're perfect and he gets very upset if that image is marred by something like not having the baseboards scrubbed down.

Yes, I'm feeling better now, thank you. It really is nothing to worry or even be nervous about as I am 90% certain that it has absolutely nothing to do with any chest organs. I just got anxious and my body panicked. Stupid body. ;-) My aunt said something about anxiety being related to whacked out blood sugar, so that is very possibly the reason behind everything. I just need more protein in my diet (and more regular meals)!

Oh, gosh! I HATE cleaning for perfectionists! Especially because the majority of people who visit are LESS likely to notice flaws/dust/whatever than you are. Is your hubby one of those few who do notice if a place he's visiting is less than spotless?

hope you're feeling better.
I think I chose 4, but the answer is actually a struggle between 3 and 4; I feel like I should do an absolute cleaning blitz, but usually run out of steam before than, so I concentrate on major messes. But I really don't do a lot of inviting over...

I am, thanks! I usually do #4 myself. I just try to make sure that the toilets are clean, dishes out of sight and the carpet is vacuumed. The rest is, well, not important. Unless it's my mum that's coming over. That's a different story altogether! ;-)

Hope you're feeling better. Please take care of yourself.

As for the poll...I chose 4, but I'm leaning towards 3. People coming over for a visit - that's the best motivation for me to finally clean up a bit.

And I loved, loved, LOVED the shiny happy ticky boxes!

I am feeling better. Much better now that the visit is over and done with. ;-)

I told DH last night that I really want to have guests more frequently because then we maybe would keep the house in better order. Keep on top of things, you know?

I'm glad I could provide you with something you love! Cheers!

I picked 4, but I guess it depends on what type of visitor this is. If it's the town gossip who's going to come to visit with her white gloves at the ready then maybe you should go whole hog. If it's someone who is (or will be) a friend and who doesn't really care that you have dust on the baseboards or spider webs in the corners, then just do the major stuff.

I don't know that I would clean the house to perfection for the town gossip. I doubt I'd even invite her/him over.

Oops. I never got around to dusting those cobwebs like I intended. Damn!

Oh well. LOL!
