Fever FTW?

So, yesterday I was a grumpy, snarly, unhappy Gus. I really don't like suffering colds. By the end of the day, I figured out that the best strategy was to err on the side of silence lest I bite anyone (Geoff)'s head off. Very grumpy.
I was also very cold. So, I put on warm, fuzzy socks, found a suitable t-shirt and snuggled up to the heating pad in bed. I was sweating for a good chunk of the night, but when I woke up this morning, I felt way, way better. I might have actually induced enough internal heat to kill this bugger of a bug. Even my eye is looking better; it gooped far less last night than the nights before, and is only barely swollen today. Damned conjunctivitis.
Granted, that means I'm on the dehydrated side now, but that's pretty easy to remedy.
Meanwhile, Geoff and Page have been bouncy, smiley people having fun the last couple of days. Which is nice. Especially when they go out and leave me alone.
I'm hoping to get them out of the house again today by going to the library (for the third day in a row) to get "Peter and the Shadow Thieves" for me to read. I can do my homework while they're gone. *nods innocently*
Anyway, I need to go take my meds, eat breakfast and such. I hope you all have been having a fabulous weekend. I sincerely hope it's been better than mine (which hasn't been too horrible, despite my grumping otherwise).
ETA: PSA - always research a drug before taking it. I finally looked up the antibiotic I'm on (cipro), and it looks to be tailor-made to NOT fit me or anyone else with a collagen disease. Also, I've been doing myself wrong this entire time by taking anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) while on it. Oooooooops. Fortunately, I don't think I'm at risk for the worst of the side-effects, but, well, next time, I'll look up my drugs before taking them. Or just forgo the antibiotics altogether (except when it's absolutely necessary), since they seem to be doing me more harm than help lately.
On the plus side, my sinusitis is doing better. I've even been able to smell things lately. Mixed blessing, that.

Date: 2012-11-25 08:47 pm (UTC)I'm on it simply because the Z-pac didn't do the job last time, and I'm allergic to all the cillins. And the newer, harder drugs don't agree with me, either (doxycyclene was HORRIBLE!!! Far worse than this, though if I had to take this for much longer, I think my reaction would become as bad). As I said, I think my body has decided for me that antibiotics are just not the way to go.
