Or not.

About the staying away from the computer, that is. I am still definitely home - the lasting snow and personal possessions prove that. I suppose last night's post was a case of delusional, sleep-deprived, messed-up thinking. Or something.

Anyway, I have gone back three pages of my friends' page and given up. I should probably go back until Christmas, so I can wish a few people extremely belated birthday wishes (Happy Birthday Keladry, Ayerf, Mollysister and anyone else I missed. Like my brother. *hangs head*), but the 29th was as far back as I got before I became distracted by linksies which led to other linksies and so on.

Sorry some of you had not-so-good holidays. Or utterly horrible holidays. *hugs tightly*

My holidays were actually quite good despite the allergies (oh my god, the allergies!) and news that the day we traveled out my FIL was fitted with an unexpected pacemaker and little things like that. Really, everything was wonderful, though. The allergies were dealt with by taking massive amounts of water, benadryl and NSAIDs. The pacemaker has improved FIL's color and snoring. And I got lots of time with pretty much all my family on both sides. I am so glad that I like (beyond loving) both sides of my family AND that they seem to like each other. I'm also really happy to see my SIL settling into a slightly easier life. Slightly, but in her case, every little bit helps. (I'm still not sold on her husband, but hey, I don't have to live with him so who am I to complain?)

Probably the best part of the trip was that Geoff was struck by how much he wants to move back, which means that it might actually happen. (And when Page was asked if he wanted to move to Colorado, he said, "No. I want to move to Denver!") I don't know how long it will take, but it looks real enough now that I'm starting to make mental lists of stuff to do/sights to see out here while we're still close enough to make it relatively affordable. Like a 2014 spring break trip up to Montreal maybe (or early summer)? Not to mention the road trip up to PEI.

I think the most exciting thing about the prospect of moving back to Colorado (beyond the proximity to family and friends) is actually things like better schools for Page (the one my sister works at would be perfect, for instance, should we move to Denver proper), and not having to salt the driveway and such.

For instance, the thing that greeted us as we got home last night was our car buried under a foot of snow. Some wonderful neighbor had shoveled the driveway around the car, but the car itself was blanketed. After fifteen minutes of trying to clear it off with the ice-scraper/brush, I finally dug out the snow shovel and used it on the car, which helped speed things up considerably. Well, that and Geoff taking over for me. ;-) The heavy snow and bitter cold are things I can accept with a cheerful attitude now that I'm used to them, but I could happily live without their hassle, too. (Though I must admit that wiping off the wet snow we get here is actually, in some ways, easier than wiping off the western powder. I will still want a garage.)

But my brain just shut off (it's 2:00 MST, which means nap-time), so I think I'll stop typing now. Bye!

Thank you for the birthday wish! *hugs* I had one of the not-so-good holidays, as most of my family was sick, so I only saw Dad on Christmas Day ... and then he got sick a couple days later, so it was pretty lonely. But I had loads of days off work, which was nice, so I got a lot of rest. We hope to celebrate Christmas and the four family December birthdays in a few weeks, so I have that to look forward to.

I'm glad your holidays were so nice, other than those blasted allergies, and that you're home safe! It's lovely when a family blends harmoniously as it grows.

*hugs* Sorry it's so late. I really was offline most of the time (I might have spent as much as three hours online in nineteen days, but most of that was spent shopping for hotel rooms), and Christmas day... well, it didn't see any computer time at all.

I hope you all are now healthy and remain so for a long while. At least long enough to get together and celebrate.

Isn't it? I now have to exercise my patience muscles (and what wimpy muscles they are) and not pester Geoff about it. Much. ;-)

And thank you!
