1. I came down to a mostly cleared kitchen this morning. I was going to say "clean," but realized that, no, it isn't clean as the floor and cupboards are grubby and need to be at least wiped down (preferably scrubbed) before the kitchen as a whole can be declared "clean." However, the stove-top was ready for cooking, the table was mostly cleared and the counters were clean. Which counts for a LOT where first thing in the morning's attitude is concerned.

2. I finally had my medicinal soak last night, and I think my trapezius is starting to ease up a bit. My neck is still mega-tight and very naughty knotty, but it doesn't hurt quite like it has the last few days. I'm hopeful that I might be able to start stretching it out today without injury.

3. My red kalenchoe is blooming! I got this plant from my MIL... I don't even remember how many years ago. I think it was shortly after we moved here, so a good nine or ten years ago. It was blooming then, but hasn't bloomed since. This last summer and fall, I was trying to take better care of my plants, what with fertilizing and pinching them back in a regular way, and it seems that it's made a couple of the plants happy, including the kalanchoe. Yay!

4. Car research is coming along apace. If only debt repayment were going at the same pace... *sigh* I am looking forward to the 2012 W-2s coming out in the next couple weeks so that I can start planning the timing with more accuracy.

5. It's been warm enough the last few days that I don't need to shovel anything. There are still big piles of snow along the curbs, driveways and such, but even those are shrinking enough to not make getting into the driveway a trick. Today will be the last warm day for a week or so, but even this coming cold wave doesn't look too bad, with most days' highs being above freezing.

6. I felt very virtuous after dinner last night because, while I ate a large plate and a half of food, only three ounces of it was meat (Page got 6-8 oz of meat, though). We had six vegetables with dinner (seven if you count the bits of cucumber in the salad), and I had heaping helpings of all of them. And all of the veggies were very good, tyvm. (Roasted squash, coconut oil-sauteed red cabbage, fried mushrooms and onions, green peas, and romain lettuce for salad. Oh, and two dried apricots for dessert.) I still feel virtuous, in fact. Despite my lethargy, I managed to provide us all with enough food to fill our ravenous appetites with only one pound of meat, and leave enough meat for Page's lunch today. *pats self on back*

7. Oh, and there are blueberry muffins. I'm probably going to finish off the batch I made on Sunday today, but they've been good in the meantime. :-)

So I'm hoping that list will help propel me into action today. I need to get out and finish the running-around errands today, as I suspect I will be home-bound tomorrow, given Page's ominous cough. I also need to make that chicken stock I've been meaning to make for the last week, as Page will probably be forced to eat some for his health. Poor kid.

But first, I'm going to relax into the heating pad and do a crossword or two. Because I can. And this is the last week I will be able to do so for a semester. :-)
