He's still an old, conservative, white guy, but at least he's from the continent that is most definitely still Catholic.

Here's hoping he uses his power for the betterment of the people he leads. That is, I hope he lives up to his namesake.


(ION, I've been trying to nap away this sinus headache/infection (granted, there wasn't much choice involved,seeing as, my stomach hurt being upright, my eyes refused to stay open, and I was slightly dizzy from the effort of slouching in a well supported chair). I think today's nap has helped, but I won't really know till tomorrow. Now I should go foraging for eggs. Or perhaps shower first and then forage...)

The allegations re. close ties to the former military junta are rather daunting, though...
