I wasn't aware that the "Keep Calm and Carry On" phrase has been trademarked. Shows how much of my news knowledge comes from across the pond.
When a dentist says "It'll be easier to keep clean this way" when removing the remains of a large filling on a lower molar, don't believe them. That sucker is a magnet for all things edible, and very, very difficult to get a toothbrush into. My nightly routine has increased by at least three minutes, most of which is spent swishing. Which helps a little bit. A very little bit.
The last science lab was today. Yay, I suppose. I dunno. The topic itself is really, really interesting (if difficult), and I really want to learn more about (most of) these topics in greater depth, but I'm also pretty sure the stress of this course is what's put my jaw out of joint. Well, that and all the dental work. (And the hygienist wonders why I don't come in every 6 months! Ha!)
Where my jaw is concerned... Even though I do think it's as much my Sjogren's flaring as it is a possible infection (I'm achy in that special way in other parts of my body, too), I went to the doctor today because my jaw is now red. I got a rather large bottle of antibiotics to take over the next ten days for my pains. Again - yay, I suppose. At least it's not cipro, so that's good. And hopefully I will feel better by Friday as the doctor says I should. (I'm to call him back if I don't so that they can do a CAT scan to see what's going on. Ha! As if!) I was also told to eat sour things, in case it's a blockage. Of course, if it hasn't gotten better by Monday, I will be calling my rheumy (who will be back in town by then) to try and move my appointment up a week and avoid all that fuss.
On thedown plus side, I'm taking this as an opportunity to be bad, and got myself some yoghurt (plain, greek-style), as well as some sweetened, dried cranberries. In my defense, I did look for fresh (frozen) cranberries that lack sugar, but none were in stock. Alas. I just hope the rather large amount of vitamin C I'm consuming these days offsets the negative effects of the sugar and casein.
What else?
My bleeding heart is definitely getting ready to bloom. There are at least three clusters of buds in development, and I think it's going to be very pretty in a couple of days. My peonies' leaves are all starting to turn green and grow, so that's a happy thing, too. My poppy is very fuzzy and healthy looking, though no signs yet of potential blooms. Also, I made a wonderful batch of ginger-squash soup yesterday, even though I was feeling very low and achy. It was definitely worth it (as was making the chicken stock that I used to make the soup. And the banana muffins. Heh. That afternoon tea must have worked its wonders... along with the pain pills).
And now it is time for me to go pick up Page. I hope he had a good day. And doesn't mind simple, simple food for dinner.
ETA: Oh, and it seems the construction next door is officially over! The place is listed and everything. Yay. (Not listed at a wonderful price, but far better than what it sold for!!!) I wonder who our new neighbors will be.
