Good things

averygoodun42Because I have been far too negative and bitchy and whiny lately. Far, far too much for the relative comfort of my position.
1. Flowers. Especially living, growing flowers in my garden. My Siberian irises have exploded into bloom, and my bearded irises are still blooming!!!!!. Amazing. Not to mention that my Johnny-Jump-Ups are still blooming, and are over a foot high... Yeah. It's a nice thing to see when I open the front door.
2. The storm has passed. Both literal and metaphorical. We didn't really get dumped on by Andrea, but I think the weather system was affecting my body system anyway, as weather systems are wont to do. I'm sure my garden loved the rain we did get, however. But beyond the weather system, it seems that perhaps Page's storm has passed as well. His lungs have been clearing up, and with it, his temper is calming down. I think we will be making sure he takes fairly regular doses f his inhaler for the next week or so, but it's a relief to see our happy boy again.
3. Tea.
4. icanhazcheezeburger, and Cake Wrecks. The other day, after I posted my whinge, I went and spent an hour catching up on both sites, and felt much, much better for it. People can snark all they like about how the internet is used only for looking at pictures of cats, but, damn, they're good medicine.
5. The return of the Muse. Granted, I haven't even made the first step of using the ideas she's been granting me, but it's nice to have both story and pictorial ideas again.
6. Green. I don't know if I really could move back to Colorado because I do love being surrounded by lush greenery so much. I guess I just wish my home here were a smidge larger so that I could fit large potted plants, like palms and ficus, inside so I could be literally surrounded by lush greenery all year long. Well, that, and be closer to our families... They need to invent (and perfect) teleporters, dammit!
7. Cuddles. And television. Perhaps especially television, this week. It's a perfect way of being with others without actually having to interact with others. Just what I've needed this week. Touchy-closeness without thought or effort! Yay!
And now I should go finish this week's homework. :-)
