Page is sick. Again. This time with (what is almost sure to be treatable) strep. Once again, took him to the doctor and instantly, upon shining the light into his mouth, the doc said, "Oh wow! Have you seen this?"
So, yeah. There's definitely a reason he's got a sore throat. As I saw. Again.
And so he's home for the holidays. Or rather, he's going to miss the entire (2-day) week of school, since the antibiotics won't render him non-contagious until tomorrow afternoon.
Whee.
Since Geoff and I have been feeling so out of it so consistently the last two or three weeks, I asked the doctor, while we were there, if mono is going around (strep is one of the symptoms). She hedged a bit, but basically said no. There's a nasty, long-term flu that's laid a lot of people up, and since mono is so hard to spot because of its incubation time, they're saying it's all the flu. And, well, since there isn't much to be done to treat mono, unless one gets a strep infection (or enlarged spleen)... I guess we won't know what's going on.
But it would explain our extended malaise.
Ach well. Need to go to work now. Brain never turned on yesterday so I'm even further behind than I thought I'd be at the beginning of the weekend.
I should just tell my teachers I've got mono. :-/
Right. To work.
Now.
