Happy Birthday!

First, Happy Birthday, Larilee! I hope it's wonderful and relaxing and gratifying and generally good. You deserve it!
Second, I thought I'd do the
fridayfiver today (to remind myself that it is, in fact, Friday).
1) Tell us about where you live:
2) If you could change one thing about your home, what would it be?
3) Do you do laundry on a regular schedule?
4) Describe the place that you sleep:
5) This morning: was it easy or difficult to start the day?
1. The summers are hot and humid, although nothing like the midwest (it rarely gets about 95 here, last summer excepted) and the winters are 6-7 months long, although varying in intensity. First winter (four years ago) was horrid, horrid, horrid, but last winter was almost mild. The best thing about here is Fall. We get it. We get at least a month, more like 1.5 months, of beautiful, mild, crisp weather and lovely fall foliage (conditions permitting).
2. Although tempted to say the kitchen, I think I would get better insulation. It's crap, and winters here get cold.
3. Schedule? Me? No. I do laundry when I can't avoid it anymore (and preferably before DH gets to it, since his bachelor laundry habits have only gotten worse since we married.)
4. The walls are... salmon swirls of varying intensity, like thunderheads at sunset. The ceiling is night sky blue with hints of stellar clouds. The trim is opulantly flecked with gold and my bed is cream and red. It is my romantic getaway, and the only place I'm not practical first.
5. I went to bed WAAAAAAY too late last night (sleep happened around 3:30ish), so it was more difficult than not. No bad dreams, though, so that's good!

Date: 2006-11-03 07:46 pm (UTC)2. I would do something about the wall-covering, which is paper in the kitchen and bathrooms, and plasticized in the living room and bedrooms.
3. I don't plan to do laundry on a schedule, but it happens on weekends by necessity. I barely have enough clothes to make it through the week.
4. My big, empty, bedroom, in my big, empty, bed. It is one of the first times in my life I have had a space that is just for resting, and that's really nice.
5. Woke up at 5:30, but didn't want to go to work.
