I think it might be one of those days

• Migraine? Check.
• Backache? Check.
• Geoff out of town? Check (albeit only for the day/evening).
• Basement flooding? Check.

And the worst bit is that the flood was caused by our crappity crap of a crapper's water intake valve. At least our previous floods have given me experience in cleaning up, right? And at least it wasn't a backed up sewer. Yuck.

And all of this drama interrupted what was looking to be a lovely dish of ice cream and chocolate sauce. The last of the ice cream and the chocolate sauce. (Although I did have the presence of mind to put the bowl of ice cream, complete with spoon, back into the freezer.)

Bah.

Oh bollocks, I'm so sorry! I hope your ice cream has a borderline pharmaceutical effect in dealing with the head and back aches.

Flooding basements are the worst. When I was still in IL, our septic tank used to back up, and as the one famliy member whose room was in the basement, it wasn't fun. My mom deserves that sainthood I've nominated her for. One friend has even suggested that she be St. Ellen of the Grilled Cheese. It sounds better than St. Ellen of the Sewage-Strewn Floor.

And, as the NY Times reminds us, it could be worse- we could have had a sewage tsunami. Yuck is right!
