Does anyone else find artichokes sweet? Like, really, really sweet?

How about swiss chard? Tomatoes?

Good tomatoes are sweet. The crap ones I bought taste like nothing at all and need lots of salt on them to be edibles at all.

Artichokes are totally sweet! Oh, you mean flavorwise? They're kind of nice and meaty for me, not exactly sweet. Tomatoes can be, I've managed to avoid swiss chard my entire life, so I don't know about that.

Ah. See, to me artichokes are sweet both in flavor and in being.

I highly recommend chard, although the red or rainbow varieties are way better than white.

Red or yellow chard sauteed in olive oil with garlic, salt, pepper, and a dash of balsamic vinegar is a little bit of heaven, I think!

Artichokes have a definite sweet flavour for me. Not Swiss chard. Depends for the tomatoes.

Artichokes - it depends on how they're prepared. They can be really sweet. Or really bitter. But hopefully they're neithe rof those.

Just plainly steamed in lightly salted water is how I find them the sweetest.
