I actually won something? *blinks* Yep. I still feel kind of squiffy about having more or less nominated myself, but since I didn't vote for myself, I suppose I shall offer up a small squee. Privately.

I'm just kind of dumbfouded, really. I actually won something.

And congratulations to everyone else who won!

In other news, I desperately need to go shopping. I managed to stay away from all sugar and flour-based products yesterday (which is doubly good on me because there are two cakey muffins on the countertop, screaming to be eaten), and only cheated a little on the salt and vinegar side. But there are so few vegetables in the house that snacking potential is close to nil, and if I don't snack I will go stark raving mad, because this diet makes me so very, very hungry!

****

I'm about to commit myself to a table at the local Mother's Club Holiday Fair. I am slightly nervous about this. I have plans for what I will display, but haven't yet made the majority of it. Artsy cards will be prominent, which means I will need to get artsy card stock. First I will determine how much I will need to charge for the cards to be able to make any money off of them, though.

The fair is December 1st. I need to be ready by then. Eep.

I could still back out. I haven't sent the check in yet. But I think there's the possibility that people might be willing to buy some of my less expensive stuff. Question is, will people buy enough stuff to cover all expenses? Must research this today.

****

And also on my mind... I haven't touched my exchange piece for about a week now. This is not good, especially if I also plan to do the fair. I suppose I need to start sceduling my time. And stick to it. This amount per day for artsies, this amount for exchangies, this amount for tidying/cleaning up as people will be bringing their kids over here next week and once a month thereafter.

This diet better work on giving me more energy.

Geoff will almost certainly not be coming home today. I'm not terribly surprised. I am surprised at the company for sending him out, but then again, not surprised. His company is... crazy. Batshit crazy. And reaping the rewards of being batshit crazy in a very bad way.

However, I am inordinately proud of Geoff for standing up and stating the obvious in the face of boss' save-face. The whole thing makes me nervous, but, you know... We'll see how it pans out.

So, that's a vague idea of what life is like right now. So now, I need to go eat breakfast. Unfortunately, I still haven't decided between left-overs or eggs.

I really need to go shopping.

I doubt you are the first person to nominate themselves, and I doubt you will be the last. So...CONGRATULATIONS!!! Go ahead and squee out loud...well at least on LJ, if you did it in RL people might become concerned...:D

After reading your post about the diet you're going to start (keeping my fingers tightly crossed) and today's post too, I was wondering - forgive me, I guess lots of people already ventured that guess - whether the symptoms you described might not point to a gluten allergy. The headaches, the skin problems, even the bad moods, it really sounds very much like an allergy.
Not that that would make things much better, but you'd still be allowed to eat certain carbohydrates without feeling worse if you did.

Yes, I am allergic to gluten, or at least react badly to it, but I also react very badly to sugar. I know this. I've known it for many years now. *slaps hand* I'm not going to be too strict on many of the carbos (like brown rice and corn and, to a lesser degree, potatoes) after the first bit because I'll never be able to stay on the diet otherwise. Well, not and pay the bills. Meat is expensive! :P

But yes, allergies are a big part of it, however the allergies are as much a symptom as the cause.

YAAAAAYYY!!!! I'm so happy for you! I mean, anyone with half a brain would have chosen "Traitor" over any of the other entries, but nobody ever accused fandom (excluding SSHG writers, naturally ;) of having half a brain. I'm so happy for you- I know how bitchy the writing process was for you, and I hope this award encourages you to keep pushing the envelope. :hugs you:

Thank you!

Um, btw, did you every read it?

It would indeed be difficult to have an opinion on a story one had never read. Yes, I finished "Traitor" just before I voted. I tried to read everything in each category that was nominated, at least until it annoyed me (which several abysmally-written entries did). It's as difficult to turn away from it as it is hard to read, and it's written with such dignity. What I can't bring myself to read is the piece that was "inspired" by it. ;)
