I am the champion!
Sep. 9th, 2008 06:41 pmMy stove fits, my stove fits! And I fixed it all by myself! Of course, the storage drawer doesn't fit at the moment because of the overlong cord that is the problem, but that doesn't matter anyway, since the stove isn't going to be staying in its place for longer than this evening. We have yet to put the floor down under the stove, so it will have to be moved, and soon.
But oh! It looks so much better when actually fitted against the wall! It looks like it fits! And the drawer opens all the way with a sixteenth of an inch to spare!
Whee! No cabinetry overhaul!
Now I just need to shop for a short range cord. (Should have snaffled the one from the old range. Oh well.)
ETA: Oh, and perhaps the real reason I am so pleased with myself is because when I (5'6" and petite) asked the big install man (+6'3" and 300 lbs of muscle) to move the stove over to the side of the kitchen after he'd put it in place (without leveling it) he got kind of pissy. So I retracted my request and they left it as it was.
So, not only did I do what the big man didn't want to do, I did it better.
So. There.
