I was looking into prices to travel out to my parents this summer and came across a pretty darn good one on travelocity. So I went through the process, clicked the "Take my money" button and... "Your request could not be processed at this time."

Grr.

As it seemed like travelocity was having server problems, since things just weren't going through, or coming up with errors, I went over to expedia where I found an even better price. I went through the process again and... "Your request could not be processed at this time."

GRR!

So, I think it may be that I'm trying to use Geoff's debit card (from our shared account; I never activated mine), so I go over to my old bank to pay off my credit card so I have the credit availability to pay for it on that.

"System error"

I can't even frickin log on to that account!

*big breath*

I assume that the Universe is trying to tell me something (to not do this right now, would be my guess) but you know what? It's REALLY PISSING ME OFF!!!!

ASAAAARRRRRRRRGH!!!!!

*another big breath*

I suspect I will need to either wait till the 19th to do this (when my credit card automatically pays itself) or the 17th, when I can use one of Geoff's other credit cards. But it's annoying to see really quite decent prices (I checked out travelocity again, and the prices are even better!) and not be able to act on them!!! Grrrr.

ETA: Success! It only took deactivating computer security and two calls from credit fraud and the bank, respectively, to clear it all up! (That sounds scarier than it really was.)

The forgetting pill.

Beyond being cool science, it made me think of how wrong JK got it (or how evilly right she wrote Dumbledore) in Harry's "treatment" for all the trauma he experienced.

Almost makes me want to write post-Hogwarts Harry fic showing how his life went down the tubes due to PTSD made worse by Dumbledore's efforts of remediation.

Almost.
