Another step has been taken on that stinker called potty training!

He went to the bathroom, used the toilet to poop and then wiped himself - without prompting, mind - and all in an unknown bathroom!

This is, like, huge, isn't it? I'm not just really excited over nothing, right?

And then, because his diaper was a bit dirty, I threw it away without having a replacement. We were on the verge of going home anyway, but as we were walking out, I noticed he was still holding his crotch and doing a version of the potty dance, but he didn't request yet another trip to the bathroom (he'd made four while we were there, first three being non-productive). But, we got home, he striped down, and then he said he needed to use the bathroom again. And he did.

He did not wet his pants. He held it!

I am nearly pissing myself in excitement here, just so you know. ;-P

The irony/serendipity is that today Babe and I went to the bookstore to get some potty books. I know I didn't read them to him, and I don't think I even showed him what books I was getting, besides an unrelated storybook ("Are You My Mother?")...

And preschool summer camp starts on Tuesday!

I am bursting with hope here. Bursting!

And considering he is doing all of this while under the stress of not seeing his dad for any significant amount of time for the last couple of weeks, I am very much inclined to believe this is real progress indeed.
