Meandering
Jun. 28th, 2009 09:37 pmFirst, I was playing with the cute name generator on the site that shall not be named, and for fun, I put in Severus Snape... or should we call him Moopsieface?
I liked Geoff's cute name: Schnookiecake.
I dare anyone to write a fic where Snape is called either of those names without killing the offending person. Perhaps even adopting the endearments? (Would that be possible?)
Tomorrow I have lots to do. First, I have to go get three teeth drilled. Oh. Joy.
Then, I go home and conk out, probably.
Then I go to the chiropractor
And finally, on the way home, I can go to the craft or sewing store and pick up tons of fiberfill for Clone v.2. (Although really, I should just sacrifice the lumpy throw pillow and one of the over-sized pillows...)
And a 4.5' pipe for the base
Geoff taped me up today, and already we both think it's far more successful than the one that never did get finished last year. I have prepared the base, and only need to get a pipe (pvc should do) wide enough to go around the former lamp base's pole for full height and stability.
I am really looking forward to having this project finished so I can move ahead with my sewing projects!
What else? Oh yeah, say good-bye to Geoff for a few days. Hopefully it will only be for a few days, but, my guess is that he'll arrive home just in time for the weekend. The Monday-Tuesday weekend, that is. Bleh.
We had pizza for dinner, and boy was it good. The crust wasn't on my new diet, but everything else was. Pesto sauce, mixed cheese (cheddar, jack and mozzarella), mushrooms, leftover grilled red bell peppers, chopped spinach, sauteed onions, and pickled artichoke hearts. Oh, and a bit of crispy garlic. It was really yummy.
I was still hungry twenty minutes afterwards, so I polished off the leftover onions. I am so glad my husband likes the smell of onions in a house!
Babe has gone three days without an accident. He came close a couple of times today, but reminding him of the playplace as a reward did help him.
Gosh, he's getting big, though! Mentally, more than physically, although everyone keeps commenting on how much he's shot up over the winter. I think it's more that his personality is filling out, so he takes up more aural space. Like my dad. *shakes head* Babe is going to grow up to be just like my dad, I bet. Which is mostly a very good thing. Difficult, but good.
(I am SO glad Babe is healthy! If he were a sick kid like my dad was, I would have bailed like my grandma tried to. Seriously.)
He's been drawing a lot recently, which warms my creative heart. It's mostly pictures of "plans" and "ships" and "jets" but, honestly, the ships and jets are almost always obviously ships or jets. Today he drew a pirate ship that is obviously a boat. With a mast. And a crow's nest. And, for the first time, he colored in one of his rockets! And very nicely, too, using four colors, two of which were for the flames! Very cool stuff.
He's also become more amenable to hugs lately, which is such a relief. I show my love physically, so it's been brutal having a stand-offish kid. But now I can ask him for a hug and he'll weigh it in his mind for a moment, and, if I got the timing and his mood just right, he'll bounce over and leap into my lap.
This is what people talk about when they say parenting is rewarding. I just hope it lasts for a while!

Date: 2009-07-01 09:35 am (UTC)Thank god Larva was a cuddler from the get go. She still is at the age of 11, which she never would admit in front of her friends, of course :-)
