I should be making chicken stock, (pomegranate or black cherry?) jello and/or roasted squash right now. However, the roast chicken doesn't have to go into the oven until 3:30, and I figure I can probably stall till then... Without trying very hard.
So, Geoff lost his cell phone on Saturday. Probably dropped it in one of the many parking lots he and Page visited as he dealt with the less than helpful boy. And then it snowed Saturday night.
I asked about it in the lost and founds of a couple stores, but I have little to no hope for it. It was ancient, anyway. Unfortunately, this means that Geoff will probably be getting a new phone with all those annoying options, like internet accessibility and such. I call that annoying because that means he'll be on the job even when out of range.
On the plus side, the guy who is taking over Geoff's job starts today. We all have high hopes for this guy. The fact that he isn't starry-eyed about the company is a MAJOR plus, meaning he might not be crushed by his job's inanity.
God, I hope that this shuffle helps Geoff's work outlook as much as we think it will.
My ear is overcrowded. I want it to kick out the interlopers and get on with draining, as the neighboring sinuses are starting to complain.
Mucus aside, (though I will say that I really hate having my used tissues go "thunk" into the trash can. *sigh* I've used two Scott's toilet rolls in the last two weeks just for my nose. Yuck.), I actually had a bounce in my step this morning! An hour and a half of running around and doing errands kinds wore it down to a mild vibration, but I do think I'm on the upswing, now. Assuming my ear drains.
After four days of pretty much no honey (2 Tblsp? total), I broke down and made cheesecake today. I will try very, very hard to limit myself to one slice a day, however. But it was odd how suddenly I stopped. The day before I stopped, I think I probably had about 1/2 cup of honey, and then, wham, I didn't want any. My gut was pretty unhappy since, but that's not terribly surprising. All those nasty yeasties were screeching for their food.
Thinking about it, no wonder I broke down emotionally over the weekend! Sugar crash, much?
My computer has been annoying me lately. I'm up to date on all the updates, but I can't view videos. Or rather, I can view videos if I have supreme patience. It takes forever for even a short video to buffer (that Snape personal ad took three minutes to buffer the one minute clip!) and then, with longer videos, it stops to buffer every two minutes! AAAAHH!
I've done several scans and no spyware seems to have latched on, and the (rebooted) router says it's going great guns, but... It's most annoying. Streaming is completely out until this gets fixed, and neither Geoff nor I know how to fix it. Ah well.
And - though this may seem a non sequitur, it is not - I am pleased with myself for actually making progress on a knitting project. I managed to screw the project up to a fair degree (WAAAAAY too big, and twisted to boot, which, since I'm knitting in the round, was deadly), meaning I had to start from scratch, but since having done so, I've made about four inches of progress! Go me! It's a basic garter stitch the whole way, so I hope to have finished it by Aeternitas, though who knows if it'll even be appropriate for the weather by then...
You know, I had got it firmly ensconced in my head that Aeternitas was the last weekend of March, not April! I don't know why, unless I was mixing up March and May, but it was kind of embarrassing to realize I was off by a month. It's better this way, though. Spring will be making its presence known by then, so the hills will be red and chartreuse with the budding trees. And who knows, maybe the rhodos will even be blooming! That would be so nice. Anyway, it'll still be chilly, but it should be a LOT prettier than I thought it would be. Yay!
Aaaaaand, that's about it. I'm sure I could blather on longer, but the laundry is actually calling to me, as is my unmade bed.
"Elizzzzaaaaabeeethhhh!" they whisper tantalizingly, "Come tennnnnnd tooooo meeeeeeeeee!"
You know you've been ill too long when the thought of doing chores is exciting. :-D
Ciao.
