Aeternitas bullet points

Because I don't have very much time left before Page gets home (and I've promised that from then till dinner-making-time is reserved for him), I'm just going to post the barest highlights of the weekend. I may expand on them later, I may not. Probably this will be completely out of order.
- "Hey Macarena!" An inspired dare to ask of Headmaster Snape at the fangirl party in Subversa's room.
- "EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!" - the room's response to my answers of who to cliff, shag or marry when given the options of Voldemort, Pettigrew and Cornelius Fudge. Snape_Believer is a cruel, cruel person. (Which reminds me, there are so many people to friend!)
- Meeting Subversa! Which actually happened in her room, at that party. I think. The other meetings of squeefullness (Dicky, Mara, Gelsey and Mollyssister all took place a bit earlier at the fashion show. Squeeful reunions also took place at the fashion show and after.)
- Mollyssister. She's awesome, ya'll (as if you didn't already know that). Not that anyone Ishamelessly glomped onto spent time with was anything less than awesome, but she was very awesome indeed. And a complete force of nature. Just... awesome.
- Unforgiveable, Unforgettable, which was an amazing presentation by Juni and Amy. I love mixing ethics/politics and fandom! (And I want to read that essay, Juni!)
- Learning to draw a decent Dobby.
- I actually (tried to) dance at the ball. It was pretty much the only way to stay warm.
- The drink Firefly made. Yowsa! Yummy and warming (so much so that I'm considering adding a shot of tequila to my medicine cabinet for future cases of super-persistent Raynaud's), but yowsa!
- Nodding off to the sounds of Mara and Dicky reading their stories again after drinking that drink. (It's relaxing being read to, darn it!)
- The interesting sensation of being warmed up by the sun, but still being able to see my breath.
- relaxing in the pool and jacuzzi. I had the entire room to myself.
- Meeting so many wonderful people I knew of, but hadn't friended or talked to.
- The costumes and gowns and... wow. I couldn't even regret not having had the chance to make something for myself (except on the warmth factor. A lined cloak will be necessary next time), because it was awesome to see the glory of other people's garb. Droxy's Snape costume at the ball was particularly noteworthy, but then, Lariope looked stunning in her Gryffindoresque gown, too. Sonia's biker jacket was amazing and... There were so many wonderful costumes to see.
Things that made me particularly happy:
- seeing Subversa squee at Droxy!Snape doing the twist.
- Hearing Lariope gush over the dance she finally got with Droxy!Snape.
- Spending a quiet afternoon with Dicky, Annie, and eventually Mara, in their room while Dicky wrote, Annie read and I drew.
- Mollyssister. (I'm telling you: Force. Of. Nature.)
- Amy. Also a force of nature, though in a very different way. Amazing, however.
- Strolling down the beautiful mall in Salem with a bunch of people I admire and like.
- Only having one or two cringe-worthy moments caused by myself.
- Getting squeeful snuggles from my son and husband upon my return home. (And feeling just as squeefully snuggly in return.)
It was a good weekend. The room issue was resolved before Gelsey and I got there, with us downgrading to a smaller, cheaper room with no problem. So yay about that. Gelsey also happened to be a great roommate, and I hope I wasn't terrible in return (don't think I was, even if I did fill the room with the smell of garlic.).
The weather was as awesome as could be reasonably expected. It was a bit cool for most people's tastes, but it was sunny and pretty mild.
There were a couple of people I didn't run into who I meant to look for, but oh well. And I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with people as I wanted. And I still don't know who all I was talking with for the majority, because the name tags were tiny and I have the memory of a sieve. Maybe they'll show up again in two years, though!
HP-MA want to do the same thing again in 2013, btw. And I happily support that, especially if it's a little later, so college finals don't interfere, and if the hotel provides a microwave (at the very least), if they can't manage to get the restaurant opened up a bit early. Because (hot food = love) on a cool day.
But now I need to get moving. Hope you all have a good week!
Oh, and I took perhaps five photos the entire weekend, so you'll have to look elsewhere for that.
