First, a (darkly) funny video.
Next, just a bitter flavor being left in the mouth. (But, yeah, less regulation is a good idea. Uh huh. (Note: I think the FDA is one of the most corrupt parts of the US government (which is saying something), and I would love to see it completely overhauled. However, I would NEVER advocate going without an oversight department in something as important as food and drugs (and putting it all on the individual States is fiscally stupid for so many reasons). Which is why the FDA needs to be completely overhauled so as to get Monsanto way the hell out of their coffers!!!)
Third... My throat hurts. I'm taking it as a good sign that my sinuses are at least draining now, so my headache should be gone soon, but, well... My throat hurts. :-(
I had fun playing Legos with Page tonight. I've tried to make a lot more time this week for him than I've been willing to give him during the active semester. Meanwhile, he's been good about choosing activities that I'm likely to enjoy. Tonight's lego game was a kinda sorta house building competition, only with a lot more role playing and rules thrown in than I'm used to with Legos. By bedtime, we'd made decent progress on my house (he'd finished his early on. And though it was small, it was conceptually WAY cooler).
I also showed him the guide to living with an introvert. I'll see how much that sinks in over the next few days.
Today I mostly spent (what seems to me to be an inordinate amount of) time on studying one measly chapter of biology. Can I really be that slow a reader/comprehender? Or am I just that picky? Probably both. On the other hand, it's a pretty cool chapter - all about ATP synthesis (energy production). Makes me bummed that my stomach can't handle the B vitamins in pill form anymore, though. 'Cause, yeah, that niacin is pretty damn essential to energy production! Ach well. I have pâté (best source of B vitamins after brewer's yeast). Which my stomach seems to be handling just fine.
Actually, my stomach seems to be recovering just fine from whatever it was that was bugging it. Thank goodness. I was getting really hungry, what with being more or less confined to bone broth and gelatin. But I've recovered well enough that I was barely bothered by the kale chips I scarfed last night. Yay! (I was (am) so hungry for vegetables! I hoped the roasting process would break down the worst of the cellulose for me, making it okay.)
In fact, today I haven't noticed any stomach pains from food or drink, even the (tealess) cold/flu brew with vitamin C. Perhaps this bug is being beaten down! Hell, perhaps it was a bug after all!
But now it is time for bed. Although napping during the day this week has been good, I do need more nighttime sleep if I'm to get all the way better before school starts up again.
Stupid LJ. Although, at least it saved the entire draft!
But on the plus side, I got lousy sleep because the stuff in my sinuses finally decided to really move. So yay. My headache is much better (although still there), and I feel like the end of this thing is near.
Also, Geoff is coming home in a few hours. That'll be nice.

Date: 2013-03-15 06:34 pm (UTC)I haven't played with Legos in years. I should get some kits to give to the girls and then play with them. Or better yet, see if Jimbo still has his, because he used to have a drawstring bag full of them.
I'm glad you're feeling better! *hugs*
