Nov. 19th, 2013 11:44 amMy friend whose uterus is revolting is going into surgery on Thursday. She has asked for help blessing the surgeon, his staff, and each of the units of blood she'll receive in preparation for the surgery.

Dec. 13th, 2012 08:39 amThe grown daughter of one of Geoff's coworkers was in a serious car accident over the weekend (happy Chanukah, right?). While she is alive and slowly improving (she's now able wake up and speak a little, for instance), she's pretty messed up. If you could keep her and her family in your thoughts, we would all appreciate it.

Nov. 1st, 2008 02:27 pmGeoff's dad was admitted to the hospital yesterday with a big blood clot in his leg, part of which had traveled to his lungs already. He's been through this before, the last time being more than fifteen years ago (before I met Geoff), and then he was in the hospital for nine days. He's not so sick this time, but it's scary anyway.
It's amazing how much medical technology and care has improved (for the most part) over the last thirty years. They have blood thinners, clot destroyers, ultrasounds that can find clots, MRI's to show exactly where damage occurred, blood pressure medication, and so much more. The US is actually pretty far behind in medical technical research (besides drugs), but still they're able to save so many people.
I am truly grateful for that.
Now, if only everyone had access to it...

Jun. 19th, 2008 10:49 pmI just found out this evening that a friend's husband, Russ, is in the hospital with a bacterial blood infection. He's doing better today (i.e. he's not on death's door anymore), but is still a long way from his normal healthy self. Any prayers, good thoughts or other positive vibes you could send his way would be very much appreciated.

Jan. 18th, 2007 08:38 pmJust found out that Geoff's (aka: DH) Uncle P is in really... dire condition. The doctors don't expect him to last through the night as he's gone into total kidney failure.
Prayers and good vibes for the family, especially Geoff's dad (Daddy G), would be greatly appreciated. Uncle P is Daddy G's last living brother - and the baby of the family.
