Day 11: Something Blue

This one involved a lot of painting, as I couldn't be bothered to go retake the photograph when I realized the composition needed to be changed. *pats gimp fondly*

First, to continue the 30-day photo meme, here's day... erm, 10! Childhood memory:

(Too bad it took till after the clouds rolled in to remember these specific memories!)

The rest of the picspam is random stuff, from Page's holey mouth to oil blobs I thought particularly pretty.

The artier ones are best seen large, so clickety click click click )

I'll take it later when I'm not cranky from bad dreams and back aches. Although there are definitely bits of truth in that description...

Still large swathes of the country unseen by me... Must remedy that at some point. Especially Alaska...

But for now I should do my homework. Even though I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth going for a degree. Except that, even if the financial world falls apart completely and chaos reigns as many are fearing it will, life will still go on.

Most likely.

And the end of the world really isn't a good excuse for not turning in one's homework.

I did the page 45 meme - nearest book, p45, first line = sex life in 2012:

In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete.

- "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay. I knew that book was good for something!

Didn't do anything yesterday. It was a good thing. But, of course, that means I need to do something today. I even know what, but I really don't want to. And it's not even that I hate doing what needs to be done, I just don't want to do it.

However, if I don't do it today, then it will need to be done tomorrow, and if it needs to be done tomorrow, then other things that I want done will not get done. So best do it today.

Vague enough for you? (I'm trying, belatedly, to be a little more mysterious this year. Add some interest to my posts, ya know. It's not working is it? ;-)

Anyway, I only have two things on my to do list today. Both need to be done. Best get to doin' them. Yep. Aaaaannnny minute now.

I thought I was tired yesterday. Ha. Granted, at least yesterday I managed to get 8 loads of laundry done, as well as the toilets. (I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE cleaning the downstairs toilet! It always smells WORSE after I clean it! And I've no clue why...). Today I will be lucky if I get anything more done than the errands I've already run.

And it's early release day. Page should be home in *looks at clock and tries to do mental arithmatic* eight minutes or so. Meaning no nap. Woe is me. ;-)

Hump day, though! And by Saturday I should be done with the basic household chores, leaving Saturday for fix-up and specialty chores! Whee for progress? Yes. Whee for progress.

Also, Santorum got his butt whooped here in NH. That's a whee, fer sure!

Cheers.

Now that the sun has set, I'm ready to go to bed so as to welcome Tuesday, but honestly, this has been a pretty good day despite lots.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Technically neither, but I'd take either. Well... the proviso on that is that it has to be homemade eggnog (not the nasty-ass store-bought stuff that's so rich I can feel my arteries clogging), or hot chocolate made my way. No cocoa mix crap.

Can you say "Road Trip?" I might have been to the pan handle of OK when I was a wee thing, and I've come *this* close to crossing the border into both WI and MI, but I don't think I actually have been to either place without counting airports. Which I don't. (Except for Atlanta, because we actually left the airport to go to a hotel.)

I do hope to eventually see more of the South someday. Maybe when we have a new car that doesn't have quite so many liberal bumper stickers on it... But, I'd also love to explore areas of the West that I haven't seen yet. Like Crater Lake, OR, and the CA coast... Not to mention that I really want to get the family out to Europe at some point. And maybe Africa, someday. Hmph. Decisions, decisions. Granted, none of these decisions are going to be made anytime soon. Need money, first!

But now I need to get to work. I'm skiving off church again so that I can get some painting done this morning. I'm so close to being finished with M's 'mural'! And I might even be pleased with it by the end!

This afternoon, we'll be watching "The Wizard of Oz," since Geoff just finished reading that to Page. I think "Wicked" will have to wait for a few years, though (like, ten?).

Happy Sunday!

Huh.

A rather surprising daemon result. )

I've been feeling very tired lately and have been slacking off accordingly. Yesterday I decided it would be pointless to do my homework (which is almost all reading) because my concentration level was nil. So I napped. And napped. And napped. The alarm went off, but I returned to my nap. Geoff and Page got home, but I continued to nap. Page's best friend came over and they made a ruckus, and I still continued to nap, albeit with a bit more noise in my dreams.

I woke around seven because my body was finally rested enough to produce its own heat, and I was overheating from the multiple layers I had on (socks and slippers, sweatshirt and jacket, quilt and furnace...). And I still managed to get to sleep before eleven.

I think I was just a wee bit exhausted.

Unfortunately, because of the resting and slacking and tiredness over the week, I have a ton to do this weekend, and I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it all. Church will be sacrificed, I'm pretty sure. Thoroughness of the pre-reading might have to be, as well. And a lot of the reading will have to wait till Monday, which is after the test that I'm not really prepared for. On the plus side, at least I have a couple of hours of fun to look forward to on Sunday. That's non-negotiable family (or perhaps just me and Geoff) time.

So, I'd best get to it. Food must be bought (and cooked), and articles must be read and chosen. And maybe somewhere in there, I'll make myself a few more cups of tea (and muffins to go with it).

Happy weekend!
