Oh, for anyone who isn't aware of the fact, Marry a Choice's epilogue has been posted at The Petulant Poetess, and is in queue at Ashwinder.  It's also up at FFN.  Now I just  have to remember to post it at AFF... right.

As for the sequel... )

Heya. In case you haven't noticed already, Chapter 14 (the last besides the epilogue), of Marry A Choice is up on both The Petulant Poetess and Ashwinder.

Story Summary: Hermione's week goes from bad to worse. She finds out an insane law is about to be passed and must choose a mate in three days to avoid the law's consequences.

Chapter Summary: Hermione's wedding day has come.

And as a rather snide note to one reviewer on a different site who wrote: ... However, as much as we all love Remus, he is a halfblood, which, according to the rules of the bill, would make him exempt. I'm not sure whether he could petion for her, but he's not a pureblood, so I dunno. Sorry to point this out. Seeing as how you have the story written with him in it, I by no means expect you to change anything. Just know for future reference that he's a halfblood...

Um... did you even read the story summary (see above), let alone the first chapter?  Do you know the difference between a bill and a law?  Whatever.  Glad you enjoyed something you obviously haven't read.

Sorry for that bit of snark.  Done now.  I really am glad she's enjoyed my story, but I actually preferred getting the review following hers saying that she didn't like the end because (of a valid reason that makes sense).  At least she was paying attention.

Of course, I've never been guilty of skimming through any story myself.

So smut is hard to write. Why is such a simple thing so hard to write? Granted I could just do the insert tab A into slot B thing, but judging by all the discussions, that is one of the keys to writing really bad smut. I s'pose I could always combine the two Moste Grievous Sins and use incredibly florid language to describe the insertion of tab into slot, but two wrongs don't make a right, and besides which, it's been done to death.

Sigh.

Ach well. Maybe it'll be alright in the end.

"Took long enough!" I hear you say, and you're absolutely right. But, the penultimate chapter 13 is up at both The Petulant Poetess and Ashwinder now. Yeehah!

Right. I'm supposed to be writing a novel right now, aren't I? Um... Yeah. Well, at least I'm getting the laundry done.

Here's an excerpt from chapter 13: 'The Last Supper'. This was a really difficult chapter to take an excerpt from, unless I chose to show you how it ends, which I didn't.

I'm sick and tired of being interned in this house by one outbreak or another. If I had my druthers I would be out and about trying to get a life instead of confined in the basement writing yet another entry. (If I keep telling myself so, it will become so, right?) Well, I actually wouldn't be updating today at all as I have nothing to say, except I promised [livejournal.com profile] beletseri I'd post the next sneak peek today, so here it is.

Sorry for the deluge of updates.  I promise this will be the last of the night.

First, I wanted to point out that chapter 11 of Marry a Choice is up at The Petulant Poetess for your reading pleasure.  Any feedback is appreciated, as well as making me squee, squee, squee all the way home.  It's in queue at Ashwinder, so it'll be up soon there as well.

Second, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] humantales, I checked out this masterpiece of absurdity The Owl Chronicles by mouse.  It's over at Occlumency and is rated G (C).  I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for silliness.

And seeing as it is technically another day (and I've been abusing the update feature), I'll also add the next entry of Snape's Journal )

Oh, and I forgot to add this peek into the next chapter (which is huge, btw). Hope you enjoy!

Oh my goodness, the sun is actually out! It isn't raining! It looks like it might be absolutely beautiful out! Not that I'm going to find out personally.

Sigh. I'm trying to keep my energy up by resting, but god it's getting boring. I've been spending way too much of my time at the computer, but haven't done much at all (except pester my betas a bit, as I promised I wouldn't do).

A bit of MaC moaning and groaning which I really should keep to myself... )

My very boring Monday and Tuesday )

As for stories and other good stuff, I'm happy that The Petulant Poetess has accepted "25 Dates," my very silly serial (SS/HG) drabblet. I guess I'll submit the next part tonight.

As for the delay on MaC, I've sent chapter 10 to the cleaners, but my first beta is out of sorts right now (so everyone send her positive vibes), and I forgot to warn my second beta that chapter 10 is my favorite chapter (well, second favorite, now) and therefore will need extensive work as I was loathe to revise it.  So she's probably sitting there looking at it, thinking, "What the heck was Avery on when she wrote this?  She sure wasn't kidding about it being 'rough'!"  And to top it off, I refuse to pressure either of them  because RL takes precedence every time.  My story is only an insignificant dust bunny in the scheme of things.

Woohoo!

The last chapter is now officially two chapters (otherwise it's about twenty pages), but MAC is DONE!!!!!! Well, I have a few revisions to go, but it's basically done. DH read most of it last night and thought it was pretty good, I think it's pretty good (okay, I'm really pleased with how it turned out), so maybe it's decent.

THere's a bit I had to cut from the story that I'll post here sometime because it amused me, but I think I have to revise it first, as it's pretty rough.

So the final count is 15 chapters, without the epilogue (so grand total is 16). Let's see, Chapter ten is with the betas right now... so maybe it'll all be posted by November?

So, now onto my other writings. But first, I think I can't postpone that vacuuming any longer. Oh yes I can! I have a countertop to cut, a shefflera to repot and friends to visit. Yay! Life continues.

Musings

Well, I'm about halfway through writing the first draft of the last chapter of MAC, and I'm snickering with evil delight.  I haven't decided whether or not to make it into two chapters or not, though it's possible I might need to due to length concerns.  Already it's about 5000 words.  I guess it depends on how long the second part is.  If I make it two chapters the readers are going to lynch me.  Hehehe.  (My mantra today is: I am not a tease.  I am not a tease.)

Maybe today, instead of writing the last half of the chapter I'll revise the "article" my mum wants me to write.  I'll have to research length requirements of most magazines, but I could probably cut it down (and definitely expand) if necessary.  I s'pose.  I guess it depends on how I feel and how much work Babe lets me do.  I should also write my next newsletter...  Hmm, so much to write, and so few prepositions to end with.

Oh, and I'm so excited!  Babe can go down the stairs properly now!  I started going downstairs this morning letting him follow me, and sure enough instead of crawling up to the edge of the stairs and cautiously peering over while pawing experimentally at the air, he turned around like a good boy and carefully slipped his knee over the edge till he could feel the next step with his toes, and then brought his other knee down.  I still have to watch him, as he has the tendency to get excited and start bouncing wildly in the middle of climbing, though.  He almost lost his balance twice in the climb down this morning.  Very scary.

I guess I'll get to work now.  Maybe I can avoid vacuuming for yet another day?

Here is a completely un-betaed snippet from Chapter 10 of Marry A Choice. Hopefully there aren't too many errors.

Hiya! As promised, I uploaded Chapter 9: A Letter of Consequence on Ashwinder  and it's in queue at The Petulant Poetess.  I'll be uploading it on Fanfiction tomorrow sometime.  Now I think I need to go to bed.  Yup.  Definitely bed. Bed bed bed bed bed ...  Okay, I'm going now.

If any of you out there were curious enough to look, here, as promised, is a preview of the next chapter. Enjoy. =)
